FOR MUSIC FANS

FOR BANDS WANTING TO TOUR WITH US

FOR MUSIC FANS
1. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ? :

The Extreme Tour started as a grassroots project of "The Extreme", a cultural outreach project started by Ted Bruun and a small group of other Idaho (of all places) residents in 1994. The purpose of the Extreme Tour was to use Extreme Sports and Music Events, held in communities across Idaho (which then became around the United States, and soon to be around the world), to reach at-risk and counter culture youth with services and resources that would assist them in making positive and healthy decisions for a successful and victorious life.

Most importantly, the Extreme Tour works to both Demonstrate and to Declare the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.

The Extreme Cultural Project in Idaho was a faith based effort, as is the Extreme Tour. However, then, just as it is now, the Extreme Tour events are NOT religious events aimed at a religious market. Rather, the Extreme Tour events are Extreme Sports and Music Events aimed at a mainstream market, and held in mainstream venues and settings.

Over the past 15 years, the Extreme Tour has grown exponentially, moving far beyond the rural Idaho communities that gave birth to this music and sports movement. The Extreme Tour is now, in terms of the number of communities visited in a year, the largest and longest running Extreme Sports and Music tour in the world. We currently visit a little over 100 communities each year, and we expect this number to go up dramatically as the tour reaches out internationally starting in 2010.

2. WHO HAVE YOU HAD WITH YOU IN THE PAST ? :

Many of today's top recording artists have participated in Extreme Tour Events over the past 14 years. Grammy nominees and winners, MTV regulars, and best selling artists representing most of the top Music Groups (including Sony, Capitol, Epic, Warner, and Tooth and Nail) have all "cut their teeth" on the road with our teams and at our events.

A complete list of alumni would be exhaustive and take more space and time than you want to read, but as an extremely limited example, past family friendly artists at these family friendly events have included (in no particular order):

Kutless, Falling Up, KJ-52, Fireflight, Sean McDonald, Stutterfly, House of Heroes, Spoken, Edison Glass, Esterlyn, LA Symphony, Pigeon John, Dizmas, Braille, Allan Aguirre of Scattered Few and many others.

Many of our alumni, now headlining tours of their own, still stop in to say hello and perform at various events during our schedule.

3. HOW LARGE IS AN EXTREME TOUR EVENT ?

Extreme Tour Events vary in size tremendously, based primarily on venue and on the event vision for each city. Large events are in the low thousands and are held in public parks and blocked off streets. More intimate Extreme Tour events are held in clubs and live music venues and are anywhere from 50 to 150 people in attendance over the course of the whole event.

We have learned that relationship is key to the success of the tour's mission, and frankly, to the success of the bands that are with us in their efforts to build a base of fans and friends in the communities we visit. The Extreme Tour is known for making our events a very personal, intimate experience for all those who attend.

5. AFTER APPLYING, WHEN DO WE KNOW IF WE HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR SURE ?

We will accept about 60-75 bands for involvement on some portion of the Extreme Tour 2010. We will begin making actual selections in January, 2010, and all selections will be completed by the end of March 2010. All bands will have been notified by early April, and most bands will have been notified even earlier than that.

6. HOW MUCH OF THE TOUR DO I GET (HAVE) TO DO ?

Once we have selected bands for involvement in some portion of the Tour, the bands that have been selected will select the dates they are actually available from the schedule of events for 2010, which we will provide them with when we notify them that they have been selected.

YOU CAN REQUEST AS FEW OR AS MANY DATES AS YOU DESIRE.

Based on your indication of what dates you are available, we will work to confirm what we will use you for from those dates you submitted. Because some dates are more popular than others for bands to request, bands are not guaranteed to get ALL the dates they ask for. However, we work to get everyone as many dates as possible.

Most bands do at least a month with the Tour. Some do as many as 3 months, and some do as few as just a couple of dates in their home area. Typically the amount of dates given to each band is determined mostly by the band's flexibility and availability. The more flexible you are, The more dates you will get.

7. HOW MUCH DO I GET PAID, AND ARE MY NEEDS TAKEN CARE OF WHILE I AM WITH YOU?

Unlike most underground and major tours that provide accommodations and meals for only the headlining acts, every band that tours with us has their food and lodging provided for at each performance date. And, unlike most other underground and major tours that take a percentage of the merch sales from the bands that are part of the tour, the Extreme Tour takes no percentage of the band's Merch Sales.

Some bands do receive compensation for being involved in elements of the tour beyond just their performance, and some bands do receive stipends based on their role in the Tour Events. There is also limited opportunity for artists traveling with the Tour to actually travel on the Tour Bus that carries the Tour Road Management. Specific details will be worked out with each band that is selected after they have been notified of their selection.

8. HOW CAN WE RESEARCH YOUR TOUR OURSELVES ?

Google or YouTube "The Extreme Tour". Google "Ted Bruun". We have been around a LONG time, there is plenty about us online. Feel free to call after you have researched if you have any other questions.
